HBX Group launches its Environmental Policy:
a shared commitment to sustainability
At HBX Group, we are fully aware of the impact our decisions have on the environment. That’s why we’ve developed an Environmental Policy that reflects our belief that caring for the planet is a fundamental part of how we operate. This policy is a practical guide for acting responsibly, reducing our environmental footprint, and working closely with our employees, partners and—especially—our suppliers to build a more sustainable business model aligned with global challenges.
The policy provides a common framework to ensure responsible environmental management, aligned with regulatory frameworks such as the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) and international standards like ISO 14001. It also contributes to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production) and SDG 13 (Climate Action). It forms a key part of HBX Group’s Environmental Management System (EMS), which ensures structured, consistent, and measurable progress in our sustainability efforts.
A policy with purpose
Guiding principles
The policy is built on key principles that shape our decisions and actions:
Priority areas for action
The policy outlines three key areas where we will focus our efforts to reduce environmental impact and promote sustainable practices across our value chain. These areas also guide our expectations for the suppliers we work with:
1. Climate action and resource efficiency
The policy calls for reducing greenhouse gas emissions, improving energy and resource efficiency, and managing climate-related risks. This includes:
- Efficient use of energy, water and materials
- Progressive reduction of emissions, including Scope 3
- Support for energy transition and low-impact practices
2. Sustainable and conscious travel
HBX Group promotes a more responsible approach to travel. The policy encourages the adoption of ESG criteria in tourism products and services, and collaboration with partners to:
- Develop and offer sustainable products
- Eliminate single-use plastics and improve energy efficiency
- Share best practices and resources through collaborative platforms
3. Biodiversity conservation and animal welfare
The policy supports the protection of natural ecosystems, including:
· Promotion of biodiversity across the value chain
Implementation across the value chain
To ensure effective implementation across the value chain, several measures will be taken with suppliers. Environmental clauses will be progressively integrated into new contracts where relevant, and existing agreements will be reviewed to ensure alignment with the policy. Furthermore, a system will be introduced to monitor supplier commitment to these principles.
Internal training: ensuring consistent application
As part of the policy rollout, we have developed an internal training course for employees. Why is this important? Training enables employees to make decisions aligned with the policy’s principles and helps build a shared environmental culture within the organisation.
A shared commitment
This policy is not a final destination, but a starting point. At HBX Group, we believe that only through collaboration, transparency and ongoing action—together with our suppliers—can we create meaningful, positive impact.
