Our 2024 ESG Report is here and highlights our major achievements in these areas, reinforcing our role as a key player in the sustainable transformation of the travel industry.  

Awards and recognition

  • Climate Change Award: Honoured at the A World for Travel event for our leadership in sustainability, this award recognises our outstanding efforts in promoting sustainable practices and combating climate change within the travel sector.  
  • Best CSR Initiative: Our Think Big programme won at Spain's 15th Sustainability Week. This programme focuses on creating sustainable micro-destinations and empowering rural communities through corporate volunteering. 

    • Launched in June 2024, the Sustainability Hub has become a collaborative space for sharing knowledge and best practices. With over 300 active subscribers, it fosters collaboration among our clients, suppliers, and partners to enhance social and environmental impact.

      • Our programme now includes over 40,000 certified establishments, with more than 6,000 eliminating single-use plastics. This initiative is part of our commitment to promoting responsible tourism and reducing environmental impact.

      Environmental impact

      Carbon Neutrality:

        • We have maintained carbon neutrality for the eighth consecutive year by compensating for our Scope 1 and 2 emissions. This achievement underscores our commitment to reducing our carbon footprint and mitigating climate change. 

        HBX Group Forest:

          • Through our HBX Group Forest project, we have planted over 16,000 trees and offset 2,976 tonnes of CO₂. This initiative contributes to reforestation and carbon sequestration efforts.

          Net Zero Website Smart Label:

            • This pioneering tool automatically offsets the CO₂ emissions generated by our web traffic, ensuring that our online presence is environmentally responsible. 

              • Our eNPS increased from +39.5 in 2023 to +43.1 in 2024. This improvement highlights our focus on human rights, workplace well-being, and professional development, creating a positive and supportive work environment. 

              People and training

                • In 2024, we dedicated over 67,000 hours to training, including 6,250 hours focused on ESG content. This investment in our people reflects our commitment to continuous learning and development.

                Corporate volunteering:

                  • Our employees contributed over 12,000 hours to community projects through our corporate volunteering programme. These efforts support local communities and promote social welfare. 

                  Think Big Programme:

                    • Our  Think Big programme developed sustainable micro-destinations in Quintana Roo, Mexico, promoting regenerative tourism and protecting natural and cultural heritage. This initiative has been recognised for its positive impact on local communities.

                    Governance

                    ESG Criteria:

                      • We have strengthened the integration of ESG criteria in our risk management processes and enhanced transparency with the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD). This commitment ensures that our business practices are ethical and transparent. 

                      Looking ahead...

                      • We will continue to expand our sustainable travel services, reduce our environmental footprint, and create positive social impacts. 
                      • Our new decarbonisation and energy transition plan includes developing tools to measure and reduce Scope 3 emissions, achieving ISO 14001 certification, and creating a climate risk map. 
                      • We are also planning to expand the Think Big programme internationally and diversify our sustainable services portfolio, linking innovation, social impact, and profitability. So, stay tuned because something new is coming very soon!
